Hello, I'm a U.S. citizen that's lived and worked in Canada for the past 20 years. I have my Canadian PR card, but just moved to California to explore school and job prospects. I would however like to keep my Canadian PR in case studying and working in the U.S. doesn't work out.

Question is, does studying/working in the U.S., obtaining a California driver's license or opening a U.S. bank account place my Canadian PR status at any risk? My understanding of the requirement to maintain my Canadian PR was just needing to spend 2 of the next 5 years in Canada.

Any insight appreciated, thanks!
