Does study permit cancel the visitor visa?

I already have a valid visitor visa and i applied for student visa but due to family reasons i will not be able to study in canada. but i want to visit canada in january. so i have some questions

1. Will my visitor visa will still be valid or will the student visa cancel the visitor visa?

2. Can i cancel the application? i applied through vfs office 2 weeks ago

You can cancel your study application by mailing query regarding your family reasons. Your visitor visa will be still valid.
