Dear all,

Unfortunately I was rejected twice for student visa by the Dhaka CIC and this year my wife is applying for me from Canada under spousal PR. I was just worried, does student visa rejection has any impact on spousal PR?

Thanks and regards

As long as you mentioned them, they will have little impact. If they were part of other efforts to get to Canada, they might wonder if you are motivated enough to enter a non-genuine marriage. If those were your only efforts, it should have little to no effect.

You have to do your best to prove that your marriage is genuine and you are not trying to get into Canada for study through marriage. Marriage after twice rejection for study permit might indicate that you are trying to use the marriage to study in Canada. So make sure that your application is strong enough.

Getting visa rejection after filing the sponsorship app would have less impact.

Visa rejection before filing the sponsorship would have higher impact as in your case.

Also when a wife sponsors husband, the case is usually harder in contrast to a husband sponsring a wife.

Considering all the above, make sure your app is strong enough to overcome these weakness areas.

Will it be a bad idea to try one more time for the student visa?

Else my wife has to go back to Canada and apply for me, we really don't want to live apart :(

Please advice.

have your circumstances changed at all since the last refusal of the student visa?

IE what reasons did they give for refusing the visa and do you have more proof to overcome the reasons for that rejection now?

If not, I know its heartwrenching being apart from someone you love, my peronal opinion would be to not apply for a third study visa as that could negatively impact your applcation for spousal pr.

Thanks, last time they told me I don't have enough money in the bank, where as, I put 2 years total expenses in my mother's account, and the money was there for last 4 months.

This time thats why I have applied to colleges rather than university, since less time and less cost. And I have the whole amount in my bank (not parents) for about 8-12 months.

So I think I might be in a better position financially than last time.
