Hi,

I have a few questions before starting my immigration to Quebec. any response is greatly appreciated.

Does one require to go through an Attorney ?

what is the trend of most of the folks if not all, do they leverage attorney services ?

What are the stages involved in getting a PR, does one get a visa first and then a PR ?

What is duration of getting a PR if filed from Buffalo ?

Kindly help.

Thank you..

destCAD, most of your queries have already been discussed in detail on the forum, but i'll try to answer some hoping that you'll get me a beer ;)

1. Hi again !
2. :)
3. not really. consultants charge a hell lot of money. chances of you making an error is less, but it can happen otherwise too. you can do all this on your own if you are good at digging out info from the net / BIQ site. its not very complicated. and you have this forum to fall back on to discuss stuff.
4. some do, some dont.
5. you're talking abt quebec right ? here, you apply for a selection certificate to BIQ with all the docs. they issue you a certificate. then you apply to the fed guys for the PR. then comes stamping.
6. there are some threads discussing this.
7. hope this helped ! :)
8. welcome

Thanks Vibez, truly appreciate your response. You truly deserve one ;)

I would prefer to go via an attorney, just to cut the chase and just in case....a few (lot) extra dollars.

One more thing the whole education thing is so confusing to map.. would you be able to help me with it..
I'm have a 3yrs of graduation in computer applications and 2yrs masters in information systems from India. = 12+3+2 = 17yrs of education
my wife has a 4 yr bachelors in electronics and electrical engineering.= 12+4 = 16 yrs of education

Thank you.
