Does mi-1 visa allows me to enter Schengen space ?

Hi all
I have been recently accepted for immigration and I received im-1 visa. I am traveling via Paris and would like to know if I can go outside the airport for some time before taking another flight the day after. I have my flight scheduled from Paris to Montreal 18 hours later after arriving to Paris Charles de Gaulle airport the day before.

I'm not sure if I need visa Schengen to go outside or not. Could you please let me know if it's the case ?

Cannot answer your specific question but do you not have any other alternative flight wise given France has a very high COVID rate and currently is in a very severe lockdown even requiring some authorisation to be out in public spaces for specific reasons, doubt a a layover would meet that.

Suggest maybe checking out the French government site given the lockdown as it is even possible that from certain countries entry to France maybe denied regardless of any visa anyone has
