I am applying for PGP 2025:

- My Wife left her job at a Canadian hospital in Oct 2023
- As per one of her 2024 T4A, she received approx 10K as "Lump-sum payments - line 13000" from "Healthcare of Ontaio Pension Plan"
- As per our accountant advice earlier, she has filed her 2024 taxes considering this as income and no objections were raised by CRA

My doubt is:
- Will IRCC raise any objections to this income in 2024 if we are counting this under LICO?

That is where things are not fully clear. The 2024 T4A does list the lump-sum amount as part of "line 13000", but the reason its paid is not part of any of the example listed in the link you shared.

One of the immigration laywer i spoke earlier was also not fully sure, so i spoke to another lawyer who said IRCC will likely ask for breakout of the lump-sum amount, and depending on details the employer provide, IRCC might decide to not count all of it as income.

We do not have full breakout; most of it is paid vacations but there might be other small things. I have asked my wife to get more details and keep them ready in case IRCC raises any objections.

I guess i will submit my application for now; i do have good amount of buffer for LICO but if IRCC decides not to consider whole lump-sum payment as income, then i might be in trouble.

If you meet LICO without the $10k then no issue. T4A is record of self employment/pension etc so IRCC may not count it. You will only know when decision is made.
