A few months ago I lost my passport as well as my work permit attached to it.
I got a new passport and replacement for the visa since then, however the passport number on the new permit was my lost passport's one.
I thought it was a mistake by IRCC, so I requested an amendment to match the passport number. But IRCC rejected my request saying "If you want to have the new passport number on the work permit apply for a new one or extend it.
I called a IRCC help centre and asked about this matter. They told me it is ok to have a document containing a previous travel document number so I was relieved.
But here the question is, will IRCC send me the work permit that I sent when I requested an amendment?
At the time of writing my work permit is still valid in my CIC account.
Does anyone have similar experience?
