I have a friend who was recently ( 1 year back ) diagnosed and treated for acoustic neuroma or vestibular schwannoma, want to know if it make the family ineligible for PR?

More info related to this condition
https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/acoustic-neuroma/symptoms-causes/syc-20356127

They are looking for advise if they really should take the steps to start creating the profile and start working on the IELTS and other things. As medicals come very last after selected in the EE, they don't want to spend money if they are not even eligible.

Any help or advise will be greatly appreciated

Yes it could prevent him from getting PR because the cost of treatment would be quite high. Is this due to a disease which could mean other tumours?

Nobody on this forum can guarantee either way but head surgery is likely to be above 100K in 5 years. Really depends on his case, his prognosis and whether this is a result of a bigger disease.

Thank you for the response.

It is noncancerous tumor on the main nerve leading from the inner ear to the brain. They got treatment in India 1 year back and tumor is removed. They are thinking about Canada but want to know before hand if this will be a blocker.

I know what it is but does he have NF? Hadn’t noticed that he has had surgery already. It is very hard to say based on the lack of information or prognosis.

Not sure what NF is? It was identified as person was feeling dizziness and numbness on one side of the head to shoulder. As part of the diagnosis for those symptoms, identified this issue.

I hope I answered your question.

Neurofibromitosis. The person is likely going to need a medical letter from their current doctor to make sure this is not part of a bigger problem. Yet again it impossible for anyone here to comment but if a disease is not likely to cost 100k over 5 years your friend will be admitted.
