Hello all,
I am an Iranian student. I have been residing in Canada with a study permit since September 2010. I will graduate in April 2015. Recently I met someone from my home country (online). She is studying her second bachelor's degree and is graduating (latest) by end of 2014.
I would like my girlfriend to move to Canada so that she can study her Masters. We are currently searching for universities offering the program she is interested in. What I am looking for is to increase the chances of her obtaining a study permit.
I have two specific questions.
1) Does getting married affect my study permit? For instance, does it matter where and how we get married? And if so, how?
2) I am aware that I can apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) after graduation. Does it help our case if we get married after I graduate and get a PGWP? Does she have better chances of getting a study permit or work permit of any type in this case?
Thank you
