Does full time remote work for a Canadian company count?

Checking my score and it's a little too close for comfort for my liking so I'm wondering if it's worth looking for a job at a Canadian company that employs remotely.

Would working for a Canadian company remotely for a year count as Canadian employment?

There are a few remote jobs that I've seen that I can apply for and have a good chance getting but just wondering if it is worth it purely for the points as the salary drop will obviously hurt for the short term.

Going by the question asked on the IRCC/CIC website ("In the last ten years, how many years of skilled work experience in Canada do you have?") it appears only work done while physically present in Canada would count.

No. You must be physically working in Canada in order for the work experience to count as Canadian employment.
