Does expired temporary resident visa effect pr process?

I have bowp but not trv and medical was received last month by ottawa according ECAS which also shows application received.
My friend who applied through lawyer under cec in june received bowp last month and his ecas shows in progress already.
I am starting to get worry about my case do you think expired trv while working and residing in canada might effect my application.

Yes yes, you will be rejected! Expired TRV is not acceptable under any circumstances by CIC!

Nahh, just joking with you! You don't have anything to worry about! You have BOWP right? So you actually have a status! Stay put, you're almost there. And don't compare your application to anyone's! Every application is unique on it's own way.

No, the BOWP allows you to reside in Canada. You only need to renew the TRV if you are travelling outside Canada. It's a travel document that allows you to board a flight.

If we apply for PR through CEC from Canada and travel back to home country and then apply TRV while returning back will that create the conflict with our under process PR??

No conflict, but it will be a better idea to apply for TRV within Canada.

Yes...but she is planning to travel back sometime soon and it will take around 30 working days for processing TRV from within Canada. That's the reason we are thinking of applying from India...which will take around 2 weeks.

Yes...but she is planning to travel back sometime soon and it will take around 30 working days for processing TRV from within Canada. That's the reason we are thinking of applying from India...which will take around 2 weeks.

As per CIC:http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp.asp the processing times is 14 days and I have read cases where one gets the TRV earlier than that. On the other hand I couldn't find any specific time lines for TRV outside Canada, I am assuming much longer than that.

Anyhow, getting one outside Canada should not be a problem.

I am reading this post with interest and thanks in advance to Maniac for guiding me. I have got my UOR in July14, so clearly it is a long time to go for next steps. I have a work permit valid till Dec15 but i am considering job offers from outside Canada. If i accept a job offer and move out, as long as i intimate CPC about address change, my application will continue to be processed - am i correct? And, if i duly complete remaining processes like Medical as and when they come up from where ever i am residing, my application will continue and a PR will be issued if i am successful. Thereafter, if i want to keep my PR status, i have to find work again in Canada and move in, within the time span (can't recall how long) to keep the PR alive. Have i understood this correctly?

Yes to all your points. The time span if issued an immigrant visa is one year.

Yes, you understand correctly. After you land, to keep your PR status you have to reside in Canada a minimum of 2 out of 5 years (current rules, subject to change). That 2 years excludes temporary trips outside of Canada.
