Does dependant children, <22 yrs have to stay with parent after first landing?

Hi All,

Just trying to get clarification on whether or not Dependants have to stay in Canada after completing PR paperwork at the first landing. Would their PR status expires if they are out of Canada for more than three years like anyone else?. If they have to go back to Canada after three years or more, how would they prove their exempt status as dependents living abroad.

Dependents have to meet residency obligations (live in Canada two out of every five years) just like everyone else to maintain their PR status.
