Hi,

I applied for Canadian citizenship recently and had also asked for urgent processing of my application. I have completed the citizenship test and LPP is in progress.

IRCC has asked for more documentation in order to validate my request for urgent processing. Can you please let me know if my application will continue processing or will it be on hold till this document for urgent processing is provided? The main citizenship application is complete.

IRCC doesn't officially answer that in its dedicated page : https://ircc.canada.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1558&

But since the normal processing continues if the urgent request is denied, nothing suggests that the application is shelved while waiting for the justification. It probably just continues as if no urgent processing was made, but with additional GCMS notes saying that a request for urgent processing with no justification was made.

Also, it's kind of a moot question once you act on IRCC's request for justification. Either its actually urgent and you'll very quickly justify it because every processing day matters, or it doesn't and you can just send a webform saying "forget it". It's not like you're letting IRCC hanging, the only one that cares about the urgent processing is you, but by the very nature of urgent processing being, well, urgent, this "limbo" period is supposed to be very short and shouldn't effect the general timeline because nothing that only takes a short period significantly does.
