Does CIC verify LinkedIn Profile?

Hi Guys,

Does any one know or aware of whether CIC verifies our LinkedIn profile?

Job in my LinkedIn profile slightly varies from what I have applied under CEC, so I was worried did it caused any delay.
I am waiting for my MR for long time now, I was trying to figure out what could have went wrong in my case so thought of asking seniors
( waiting for GCMS notes to get exact picture though )

No - since they need to go through thousands of applications, I doubt they will bother to dig into applicant's LinkedIn profiles.

Wait time varies between applicants - so it doesn't mean something is "wrong" with your application.

No.

And you can also control how much of your profile is visible publicly.

I know that they would check employer's website, but as of linkedIn I am not sure. Better be consistent though.

Can they depend on profiles in facebook, linkedin,etc.......I would say 'NO'.

I tried your idea. As my company has no official website 1st page showed up was yellow page (my company address) and second link was my linkdin profile. So doesn't matter what they search My profile gonna show up second.

You can block your LI profile, as in, if I am not one of your connections on LI, I am only able to see what you allow me to see. In my case, it is only my name, my summary (does not specify anything), my email address and my phone number.

It's unlikely but y'alll shouldn't be too quick to rule it out.

If CIC have any doubts they will run background checks. If they find anything that is inconsistent, they can question it. If they search for you online and linkedin says you have a completely different job(s) - it will raise a red flag.

My suggestion would be to ensure everything matches up!
