Does CIC always ask for rent agreements in RQ?

I was just wondering what are the most frequent or most wanted documents CIC asks when they send RQ? I have a letter from my old landlord stating I paid my rent and maintained the property . That is all what I have from him. I used to pay him cash

You should ask your landlord to make a rental agreement from him with both of your signature on it. date when rental agreement came in picture, rent amount, address and other information. It is a standard format.

Landlord suppose to give you that.

well the first place i lived there like a year and half he didnt and i was new here i didnr even know i should do that . when i left that place ( i rented a room) i asked him to sign a letter stats that I paid my from the beginning till the end of my stay and he did .. he dated and signed that but he didnt out his address there as he used to live somewhere else, he would only come to the apt to get the rent.
