I am 27 and I am from Ethiopian. I applied for a TRV last month to visit my husband who is a PhD student in Canada. The visa center in Kenya responded for my application after 3 weeks with an email which requested a medical examination. I did all the examination and it all went fine. What I am worried about is I am now five month pregnant and I did not mention that in my application before. But now since I had a urine test, it is obvious that my pregnancy will be known. And also i I attached Ultrasound result since my panel physician ask for it. My question is, will my pregnancy be a reason for a refusal of visitor visa.

Sure - anything is possible.

Hi Scylla, could please explai more? I don't understand you saying "anything is possible"?

If CIC believes that one of the reasons you want to come to Canada is to give birth to your child here so that the child can be a Canadian citizen by birth, the visa may be refused.

Thank you Scylla. But my husban is have fully sponsored by the Univeraity he is studying at and I am also entitled to get a work permit. Besides in my application I attached my husband's bank statement which is good enough to cover my and our baby to be born expenses for the period we are supposed to stay.

You are entitled to APPLY for a work permit - but this doesn't mean it's going to be approved. There are plenty of people on this forum who have been refused. To increase the chances of being approved for either a tourist visa or study permit, you should show strong ties to your home country to demonstrate you have no plans on remaining in Canada long term.

Thanks again Scylla. I actually tried to show in my application my attachements to my country like employment and family ties if it helps. Hope me luck. Many Thanks.
