Passport or medical expiry, whichever comes first. The COPR will tell you.

What happens upon approval and medical expires due to long processing times. For example, approved one week meds expire week after? tks.

if the PR is issued close to the expiry of the medicals, the VO normally will contact you and ask you if you're able to land within the next 2 weeks ( if the medicals expire in 2 weeks, for example). If you can (because you're already in Canada waiting for the PR to be issued, or because you can jump on a plane, go, land, and come back to your country to finish a few things before moving to Canad), then they will issue the PR and send it to you. If it's too short, then they will request an extension of the medicals, and it will give you more time to land.

In some cases, if it's coming very close to the expiry of medicals, and if it's the only thing preventing them from issuing the PR, they will automatically request (without asking you) an extension of the medicals, and you won't be aware of it until you receive the PR and see that the deadline to land has been extended.

Good luck,
