Does anyone know how long it takes to process a PR application in Mexico for Canada? Particularly the Yucatan. With good labor and supervisor experience no degree.

Say around 400 points and yes a job offer. We haven't gone to mexico het but thay how many points we have here. I know it's not a great number :/ I'm aware that we would be most likely put into the pool. I'm just looking for a rough estimate.

No but when we are ready we won't have trouble getting one. We can't apply for a work permit though only permanent residence because my husband was living in the U.S illegally ( long story his mom brought him when he was 3 with a visa and over stayed) that's also why we have to go to mexico to apply :/

Situation slightly more complex. Was he only deported once? If so it seems to be overlooked but if he reentered after being deported that will be a big issue. Unfortunately all you can do is try to raise your points.

No he was never deported. We reside in the U. S. It's very complicated. 11 years ago right before we met his got arrested (biggest mistake of his life) that arrest makes him inadmissible to the U. S forever, they aren't like Canada where after a certain amount of time they know you are no longer a problem. We are sick of living this way and I want freedom for my husband because it holds us ALL back. I don't want to just move to Mexico because I worry about the saftey of our 3 kids. So I'm thinking we can go to mexico and apply from there for PR for Canada and new Zealand and see where we can go. I just want my kids safe and not to worry about us getting separated. I'm hoping it may be possible to just stay in mexico 6 months or less if that's possible while we wait for visas to get approved. He has excellent experience with supervisor work on rail cars and there are many companies up in canada that we can get a job offer from when the time comes. It's a matter of how to get there and legally

sorry about the confusion what I mean when I say I don't want to just move to mexico what I mean by that is forever. I'm okay with going temporarily while getting PR somewhere safer

Have you considered getting an immigration lawyer? You still seem to have a point problem.

I did speak to a Canadian imm. Lawyer a few weeks back. He told me it wouldn't be a problem that my husband was in the U. S illegally and it would be easier for him to get a work permit then after a year apply for PR. After further research I find out that was complete B. S. I do plan on calling CA immigration tomorrow and seeing if the can help me out with info also. But I found out if you lived illegally in the U.S you can't apply for a work permit in CA because they think you will just overstay :(

I have seen more and more cases similar to yours appear on the forum or hear about them in the news. Families who have spent significant time in US but not all of the family members have legal status seem to think Canada is the answer. It may be for some but it is not a done deal.

Because of the previous arrest you also may need some extra paperwork. Another reason why a lawyer may be needed.

Do you know process times in mexico to U. S. I need to see what we can do to get more points besides getting a degree

Maybe I'm confused. What do you mean processing time? You will need to figure out how to get to the point cut-off first before the process really begins.

I understand , that's why we also looked in to new Zealand but I prefer CA. We have all the paper work from his arrest. I spoke to CA about that a few weeks ago they told me he wouldn't need to be deemed rehabilitated since it's been over 10 years and we have all the documents that go with that.
