Does 16 month continuous diploma program considered 2 years for 3 years Post Graduation Work Permit

Hi i have been offered to continuous 16 month trades/diploma program and its states to start in 29 Oct 2018 and ends at 28 Feb 2020 and in the program description it syas that there are short breaks in December an August. So after i complete this course will it be considered as 2 years for 3 yrs PGWP OR will it be considered as 16 month study with 16 month PGWP?

My institute is BCIT (British Columbia Institute of Technology)

Has anyone from BCIT done a similar 16 month course and got 3 years PGWP?

16 months = 2 academic years = 3 years PGWP... this is true across entire Canada

Thank you dovahkiin i hope i get the 3 years pgwp because after the 16 month course i have to complete a 2.5 years of apprenticeship but im a bit confused because today i got the visa approval letter which states that i may have got a visa till 28 May 2020 exactly 90 days after my graduation so doesnt it means it will show me 16 month on my pgwp application ?

No. 8 month study is equals to 1 year of study in canada so students get 1 year of PGWP.
16 months of study is equals to 2 year of study in canada so students get 3 year of PGWP.
You will get 3 year PGWP after completing 16 month course.

There is a difference between actual years and academic years... In Canada 8 actual months = 1 academic years... on PGWP academic years matter... 2 academic years(16 actual months) will get you 3 years of PGWP

Thank you dovahkiin and ankitnimesh for your replies. Im a bit relieved now because this apprenticeship was my longing desire. Missing it on the half was was a big loss for me.
