I sent all photocopies of the greeting cards, etc due to this reason of not being returned back. Also the application only need you to send photocopies for most documents unless otherwise advised on the application instructions to send originals.
All of your original certificates and photos will be sent back to you by the visa office together with your passport, duly stamped with the Canadian PR visa ( not PR Card ).
I should certainly hope not, they have our original marriage certificate. Couldn't care less about the rest of it. I was under the impression that they returned your suporting evidences with your passport
If the document checklist requested originals of the marriage certificate, degrees, etc those will be returned to you at the end. But if you chose on your own to submit originals(even though not asked), then you won't get it back.
