Hi.

I am the applicant and I have no children. In my understanding, I do not need to submit documents on the list that does not concern me.

Here are my list and what I am not submitting:

YES, I will have to submit:

1. Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008)
2. Schedule A - Background / Declaration (IMM 5669)
3. Additional Family Information (IMM 5406) - Now I am not sure here if this is required. Why do I need to write even my half-siblings info? what If don't know where they are? Do I have to track them all down?
4. Spouse/Partner Questionnaire (IMM 5490)
5. Identity and civil status documents
6. Travel documents and passports - in here, I only need to copy of the most recent passport, not the old ones, right?
7. Proof of relationship to sponsor
8. Police certificates and clearances
9. Proof of medical examination
10. Photos

NO, I do not need to submit:

1. Declaration of severance of common law relationship - I do have divorce paper already so I do not need this??
2. Additional Dependants/Declaration (IMM 0008DEP)
3. Use of a Representative (IMM 5476)
4. Children's information
5. Other documentation. Supplementary Information - Your travels (IMM 5562) - I don't need to submit this because I am not submitting my application in Paris, but Vienna.

Am I right in my understanding here? Thanks!!!

That looks right to me :) Check your country-specific instructions for the exact forms, but it looks exactly like what I had to do for submitting mine (I am an American)

thanks! I feel relieved :)

Now I just have to time very carefully when to submit my police clearances as they have to be valid within 3 months of issuance date! I read somewhere that I can send it later, but just be sure it's submitted when it's time to assess the applicant's documents (after first stage approval - sponsor evaluation).

You must include your half-siblings, no matter how little information you have for them. Just include a separate sheet explaining the situation.

Your police clearances are valid for 90 days, but when CIC receives them they are, in essence, locked-in to that date. If you can get them now, just include them with the application. If you cannot, be sure to also include a note stating that you have requested them and will forward them upon receipt. Otherwise, CIC may think that you skipped that important step.

CIC seems to have empathy for an Inland applicant (due to the crazy processing times) and will generally not have a problem with PCC and medical examinations, submitted later, but for an Outalnd applicant, they may not be as understanding (though it has happened).
