I will need to see a General Physician when I get to Montreal. I feel like I'm coming down with a cold. I know that I am not covered as a new settler for a period. Does anybody know roughly how much it would cost just for a consultation?

I don't know how much it would cost but there is nothing the doctor can do for you anyway for a cold. There is no cure for the cold. The doctor will most likely tell you to go home, have a rest, take some aspirin, sleep it off.
In Canada, you can buy a lot of over the counter medicince that will help you feel better while your body fights the cold off, so instead of going to the doctor, you can go to a pharmacy, describe the symptoms that bother you the most and they'll give you something for it.
