Dear doc
Thankyou for offer ,definetly we would contact you to share your experience of MCCEE. By the way which part you have passed 1 or 2 or both ?
Mccee has only 1 part, Qualifying exam has 2 parts, all IMGs need to pass MCCEE, and may get a chance to practice Family Medicine if they have 2 yr training of family medicine, they may even avoid passing Q1 & Q2 exams. but the qualifying exam is must to to land into a residency programme, But MCCEE takes place allover the world, Q1 & Q2 take place only in canada,

I studied mostly Kaplan, and some Toronto notes, TN are too lengthy and are a difficult read, but some chapters are must like family medicine. Kaplan is much more simple and definitly sufficient if you read with good concentration. I got 50 marks more than the required passing marks, My center was prometric Karachi lacated in Clifton.
Best of luck to you all.

Im working here in makati and south of MM, actually im a specialists and at the same time practicing GP but, i can feel that the practice of medicine here now is not that good anymore, competetions among fellow doctors are rampant, HMO's payment are delayed and some really wont come anymore coz their bancrupt. Private patients, well since I started my practice, I had a handfull of patients where my pfs were not paid. With these scenarios, I dont know what my future will be, if I stay longer. Thats why my wife and I decided to go on with our application, Anyway, Im planning to do the MCCEE here once I have my first AOR. How about you? But the problem is, I havent started preparing for that exam yet, Ill message my firends who are in canada who took the exam on which reviewer or boo to use and Ill share these once I got a reply.

i know how you feel. that is why when an opportunity arose for me in 2007 to work in the middle east, I didnt think twice. I used to moonlight for several small hospitals and clinics, working about 7 days a week, but still the income is not enough. since i did not come from a family of doctors, it is hard for me to establish my own practice. :-[

i will take the mccee next year. hopefully, 6 months is enough time to review and prepare for it.keep me posted too on good reviewers. might order through amazon as it is hard to find a bookstore that sells medical reviewers.

Sunasir, you an go to this site for IMGs or International Medical Graduates for the full info; http://www.mcc.ca/en/IMGs.shtml

Steps IMGs can take before arriving in Canada
You can start the licensure process from outside Canada by:

Confirming that your medical degree is from a recognized medical school.
Visit the International Medical Education Directory (IMED), part of the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research's (FAIMER) website. Your medical school, the name of the medical degree and the year of your graduation must be listed on the FAIMER International Medical Education Directory to be accepted in Canada.

Taking an online self-assessment exam.
Fees: C$60 per examination

Submitting your credentials with the Medical Council of Canada's (MCC) Physician Credentials Repository.
IMGs can use the MCC's Physician Credentials Repository to establish a confidential professional electronic portfolio of their credentials prior to arriving in Canada. IMGs can request that the Repository share their portfolio with provincial/territorial medical regulatory authorities, certifying and qualifying bodies. The MCC requires IMGs who are applying for the first time to the MCCEE to open an application with the Physician Credentials Repository and send a certified copy of their final medical diploma. The diploma must be successfully source verified through the Repository for the candidate to be eligible to the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE) Part II.

Fees: To open a Repository account, IMGs are charged a one-time account fee of C$250. C$100 is charged for each of the first four medical documents submitted for source verification. C$60 is charged for each subsequent document.

Taking the Medical Council of Canada Evaluating Examination (MCCEE).

IMGs must pass the MCCEE to apply for a residency position through the Canadian Resident Matching Service. The MCCEE is offered in 500 sites in more than 70 countries. For a list of countries where the MCCEE is offered, please see Prometric centres -- list of countries.

If IMGs have obtained Canadian or American board specialty certification, they may apply to the Medical Council of Canada for an exemption from the MCCEE.

Fees: First-time MCCEE candidates are charged C$1,500; C$1,300 is charged for IMGs who reapply for the MCCEE.

Hope this helps...
