Hi Friends
I am new to this thread. I am an anaesthetist in India. Though at present outlook may not be so good, in future Canada will need more doctors for their ageing population and will have no option but to get Foreign trained doctors into their system.
Best of Luck to all
Royalman

I agree with you Dr. Royal,
I think that as time goes on,the process of recognizing foreign trained physicians shall be made easier..
They are already discussing this issue now..

In my opinion, the least to be done is to increase the number of residencies & training available for immigrant physicians..

welcome royalman, I totally agree with basmaallah .we will be stepping into canada at the thresh hold of sweeping changes occurring in our field . AS an IMG we will have smooth integration into the system
Regards vasala.

Well casayed, sometimes the bank knows late about the encashement & some applicants had their bank drafts encashed late. So, lets hope that is the case, don't worry & keep contacting your bank. After your application passes the 6 weeks time, you can send them an enquiry through their website.

keep your hopes high,

Does Anyone who applied under NOC 3112 got MR yet ?

Hey friends,
I received a reply from CIC about my enquiry for resending email that they send it on feb 25th which states still application is currently awaiting review. You will be contacted in due course with application no starting from # E0..........
I don't know why these people are taking so long time to review ...I think they need more manpower to overcome the load and built more jobs to the canadian people .

Hi, I am from NOC 3112 and i am also waiting for medical. 2nd AOR on August 10th 2010. Anybody knows????????

Dr. Sohaila

Hi fellow buddy immigrant doctors :)

I have been away from the forum for a while because I was out of the country.. I'll have to travel again in the next month.. So, it's pretty hard to keep track of the growing forum.. Still, I am happy for all who received their PERs, medicals & all..

I have attended a CIIP session. I found it to be veryyyy useful & informative. I advise everyone to register with them & attend (especially those who already received their medicals). They get you in contact with several entities that can help you in all the aspects you need to settle in Canada..

Yes String, I agree with you that they need more manpower to get things going faster..
We hope they realize that soon, so that they finish our applications soon :)
Until then, it's a waiting & praying game.. & keeping sane till we finally settle down in Canada

Hi Basmalah, I would like to hear your insight about locum tenens. I have been seeing that from US to canada to europe. Do you know how it works?

Hey Docs :)

Well I am in the process of gathering docs and gonna apply soon in a week or 2. Got my IETLS result yesterday, so that is 16 Points. Age is 10, Adaptability (wife's academics) probably 5.

OK..I know that the Basic Medicine degree (MBBS) has 20 Points as its considered equivalent to Bachelors. Can anyone tell me what are the points given to Docs with 1 year post graduate qualification from University.

That will make MBBS+Post grad qualification equivalent to Masters, right? Total years of education would amount to 18 years, as MBBS has 5 years. Even if they count it 4 (Bachelor equivalent), 1 year post grad would still make TOTAL years of education 17.

Please can anyone comment.
Thanks

if it is PGT (post graduate training) then it is not equavalant to masters.

If you have masters for ex: Master of surgery (MS) or PHD then you can claim extra points.
