Hello All,

Two news articles caught my eye. First about RBC outsourcing Canadian jobs to overseas and second about Ottawa looking into reviewing and tightening temporary worker program.

thestar . com/news/gta/2013/04/07/rbc_defends_plan_to_lay_off_45_canadians_outsource_their_jobs.html

thestar . com/news/canada/2013/03/01/temporary_foreign_worker_program_under_review.html

Do you think that it will have any negative impact on high skilled temporary workers? How about renewing the work permits for existing temp foreign workers?

Probably, with the hue and cry, IMHO employers are going to have to demonstrate a better search for eligible Canadians and PRs before LMOs will be issued.

Agree with PMM. I suspect that they may ask employers to advertise jobs for longer than the current 2 weeks or to consider Canadians/PRs for the position and then train them.

Does anyone here thinks that it might impact the renewal of the work permits?

The article talks about the low skilled jobs; however do you think high skilled jobs are also under radar?
