Do we need birth Certificate?

Hi Guys,
I sent my application today to Sydney, NS. I am working on gathering the docs now. I've a question that Do we need birth certificate while submitting full application with supporting docs? Is it mandatory?

Yes it is mandatory. You need to send notorized copies of the birth certs for each applicant.

it also depends on country. In some countries, some older folks dont have birth certificates. I read somewhere on this forum, that these people use their school report card or something like that. However the norm is to have BC and if your country does issue them (even at an older stage), CIC will probably expect you to have one.
