Hello Guys,
I would have a simple questions because I haven`t found any rules for this yet. My partner and I live in a common-law partnership. We did that whan we came first to Canada (Vancouver), four years ago, because my partner get a job and I came with him as a spouse. Then we left and went to the United Kingdom, and 2018 we came back to Montreal also as common-law partners.
Because of this journey we have these documents already:
- The original declaration about our common-law partnership what we did with a public notary in our Home country, and a certificated, stamped translation for this document. We made it in 2016.
- And besides this we also have the Declaration of a Common-Law Union form [IMM5409] too signed and certificated by a public notary too, and it made in 2018, because when we migrated to Montreal they asked this too. When we went to Vancouver we had to ill this form also, but there was no need to go to a public notary with it. So basically we have this form twice.
My question would be the following: I am about to collect the necessary documents for apply the Express Entry soon. And I just would like to know do we need to fill this form again, or they can accept the former documents too? And If we have to fill it again, is it necessary to go to a notary with it again, or we can prove the validity with the former ones?
Thank you in advance for your advice!
