Do we have to sign for the PR card when it arrives????

I landed in Canada on 3rd June and had to get back to England. I had given a close friends address for the card to be sent. They still have not received the card yet, now my friend and his family are going to India on a holiday. Does any one have to sign for the PR card when it arrives or do they just drop it in the mail?
Anyone who has already received the card please reply. Thanks.

No. No signatures r needed. It's just dropped into the mail box. Don't worry, they'd get it when they return from vacations.
