Hi,
I plan to fly back to canada! We will apply for sponsorship Common Law!

Would they let me in canada with a one way ticket or do they want a return ticket?
Or is it enough proof when I pay the application fees? and then they would let me enter with it!

I know return flights are cheaper sometimes but I f I have to storno it it will cost me again!

thanks ;)

Return ticket for sure. Proof of your PR application will help though.

Its not Canada that you will have the problem with first. It will be the airline. Some airlines and its up to the person on that day of check in if they will let you fly on a one way ticket for example.

My son who is Canadian born her flew to the U.K short notice. His Canadian passport had expired so he used his British as he has dual citizenship . They wouldn't let him board the plane because he had no proof of being able to live in Canada and if he was denied access to Canada they would have to fly him back to the U.K.

Now saying that many member who have their application in and has received Sa .. Sponsor approval have been allowed in with no problems.

The question is how good are your nerves and what chances are you willing to take . Mine are nil so a return ticket would be advised.

I believe Germans are visa exempt meaning you do not need a visa to enter Canada. I am speaking from my experiences and I am from the U.S which is also visa exempt from entering Canada and I have flew over 10-15 times to Canada without a return ticket in the past 4 years and not once has the airline asked me for proof of my return ticket. CBSA, is another story as recently when i went to visit my partner in October i was asked to show proof of my return ticket to a CBSA agent and this is the first time in 4 years i was asked to show proof. So in terms of airline, if you are from a visa exempt country to enter Canada the likelihood of them asking for a return ticket before you board is slim however CBSA agents is another story.

I have entered Canada a few times with no return ticket, and this was before sponsor approval.

If you can get a return ticket then it will help you if the officer questions your intentions, but if you are visa exempt then they do not scrutinize you as much.
