Do the Sponsor's Documents need to be approved before PR application is sent?

Hello,
I am the applicant and am an American in Japan. My husband, the Canadian in Canada, is the sponsor. Does he need to send his application to Mississauga first and then wait for approval
-OR-
do I send my packet to him and then he sends it all together as one big package to Mississauga? (At which point, Mississauga would, ideally, approve it and then forward it on to Japan.)

My PR application is actually ready to go except for my medical exam next week.

You send your part of the application to your husband and he sends in both the sponsor forms and your forms and documents all together as one big package.

Jen, is right, but also, I think it might be really useful for you to read the instructions for filling in the application packs and the document check lists as well, as they will make sure you send everything you need to the right place.

Better right first time.
