Is Sponsor's passport copy a requirement?

I am almost gathered all the documents to be send to Mississauga pertaining to sponsoring my wife. I am a little confused after reading some posts that says: I need to send in copy of my Passport? Is that true. I have a PR card. I have been a PR for over 4 years now and have travelled to my home country to see my parents often.

If copy of my Passport has to be provided, what pages do I need to include? Where does it say that copy of sponsor's passport is also required?

Any answer would be appreciated.

Item number 13 on the document checklist requests a copy of ONE of the following:

-your PR card,
-Canadian citizenship card,
-Canadian birth certificate,
-Canadian citizenship certificate OR
-Canadian passport.

Obviously, you need to provide your PR card copy if that is what you have out of these items. When in doubt, check the checklists.
