Hey everyone,

I submitted my PR application under common-law sponsorship on Feb 4 2025 received AOR Feb 27 2025 (is that good?), and I know the expected processing time can be around a year or more. However, I was wondering—do refusals generally come sooner?

For context, when I applied for my study permit and postgraduate work permit with restoration of status, I never received a refusal. But I’ve heard that people who get declined often find out much earlier in the process rather than waiting the full estimated timeline.

Is there any truth to this? Do refusals tend to be processed faster than approvals, or does IRCC take the same amount of time regardless?

Would love to hear from anyone who has experience with this.
Thanks!

You need to stop spending time on this forum and obsessing over your application.

To answer your question, where there is an issue with the applicant's eligibility, that refusal would generally come later or towards the end of the process time and quite possibly even after the standard processing time if IRCC requests additional information.

Again, for the good of your mental health, strongly recommend you take a break from spending time here.

Good luck.

I was gonna say something but you said it best, idk what’s wrong with people and I mean this in the kindest way possible but this person needs to chill out.
Imagine getting AOR early and thinking like this lol … you’re nowhere close to anything in the application and this is your thoughts already I can’t imagine how you’ll feel when the application actually starts to progress and IRCC starts sending you communication.
