Hi everyone,
I’ve been going through the Canada immigration process recently and had a question around medicals and existing foot conditions.
From what I’ve read, most applicants need to complete an immigration medical exam depending on their visa type, duration of stay, and background. () I understand that the goal is mainly to assess public health risks and potential burden on the healthcare system.
What I’m unsure about is how specific conditions like chronic foot pain, past injuries, or even minor procedures are viewed during assessment.
For example, I had ongoing heel pain a while back and consulted a podiatrist Perth when I was working abroad. It was treated and managed well, no major issues now, but I’m wondering:
Would really appreciate if anyone here has gone through something similar or has insights.
Thanks in advance!

- Do past foot conditions or treatments affect medical admissibility?
- Has anyone declared something similar during their medical exam?
- Would something like a minor procedure or ongoing orthotic use raise concerns?
Would really appreciate if anyone here has gone through something similar or has insights.
Thanks in advance!
