Do not meet residency obligations

Hello. I have question if anyone can give me an answer.
My family and I are a PR, we spent 4 years and 5 moths outside Canada. We are currently in Canada and the PR card will expire after 7 month.

Q1: It is obvious that we cannot meet the residency obligation before the 5 years finish, so are we going to loose the PR status? I understand that the the PR status is not related to expired card and that losing permanent resident status does not happen automatically but i know that to keep your permanent resident status, you must have been in Canada for at least 730 days during the last five years which we do not have.

Q2: We have no intention to renew the PR card however we would like to stay in Canada for 3+ years and then apply for the citizenship. Will be there any problems the time we submit the application?

thank you

You basically can't leave Canada until you are compliant again with tour PR. No it shouldn't cause an issue with tour citizenship application.
