Hi,
last December we send our application for permanent residency application under family class- common law sponsorship.
I am currently on my visit pass and it's valid until end of April this year, last month we received the AOR and cic says they already started with our application. Along with that is my application for OWP. Now my question is, do i still have to extend my visit visa? giving CIC at least 4 months to process my OWP, i might have my permit around June. Would i still have a legal status after my Visit visa expires and while waiting for my OWP? Thank you! :)

Technically, yes, as long as something doesn't go wrong (such as CIC losing your OWP application, or who knows what). If you don't get your OWP before your visitor status expires you can just apply for a new one online, as long as you apply BEFORE the date of your current status. When your OWP shows up, just cancel the visitor extension.

If you can see your OWP in process online somewhere then you don't need to worry much about extending your visitor status.
