Do I qualify?

First, thanks for this good and informative site.
Second, I'm thinking very much of immigrating to Canada. I did the self-assessment test and unfortunately I lake 6 points to reach the minimum of 67 points ss I'll travel alone (no spouse) and I don't have relatives or Work in Canada.
My question is: If I have some valued certificates in the IT field, can this help me in the assessment of the officer although I didn't reach the minimum required point?
I'm currently Working as a Data Network and Security Engineer
I have the following certificates:

CCNA : Cisco Certified Network Associate
CCNP : Cisco Certified Network Professional
SND+SNPA : Cisco Certified PIX Specialist
MCP : Microsoft Certified - WindowsXP
MCP : Microsoft Certified - Windows 2003Server
MCP : Microsoft Certified - Exchange Server 2003

None of the IT certificates will help your application, if you don't meet 67 points, it is pointless to apply.

though you would have assessed your points correctly but isn't it better to have it assessed by any lawyer or immigration professional.

Or can you give the break-up of your points assessed by you on this forum so that other friends would be able to guide you or give you any better idea.

what factors your are claiming points against. can you show us?

I took the self assessment test on http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/assess/
and here are the results:
Education: bachelor’s level + 9 Months Diploma (20 pints)
Language: Only English (16 points)
Work Experience: One Year (15 points)
Age: 25 (10 points)
Arranged Employment: None (0 points)
Accompany: None (0 points)
Study, Work or Family in Canada (0 points)

So that totals to 61 points !!
I'm thinking in learning French to get some points....what do you think friends?!

Hi Friends,

Its a good idea to search any job in Canada.
Meanwhile you also can learn french and continue your studies.
What if you think about getting education in Canada and apply student's visa.

While you are trying for job offer, I will suggest you to start learning French. Point will help. I think you are missing experience point. Cover that with Second language points. So far what I have searched, It is hard to get job offer in IT field. They tonnes of IT immigrants. Job offers are only for truck drivers, electricians, masons, plumbers and other manual workers.

That's what I've been told,getting a good job offer is not easy. One have to search after going there.
I'll go on with the French courses. It may take me a year to reach a good level. Meanwhile I'll then have another year of work experience.
