Do I need written authorization for travel?

Hi,

I am planning to travel to my home country to visit my parents as I haven't met them for 1 year now. I am currently on a post-graduate work permit and have been a resident of Canada for 2 years. I am also working full-time.

I want to know whether I can travel and come back to Canada without written authorization? Based on the IRCC website, I am exempt from the restrictions but it doesn't mention whether I need written authorization to enter Canada. So if someone knows about this or traveled during COVID-19 on work permit, please share your experience.

You do not need written authorization.

However you do need a valid TRV to return.

You should also travel with proof that you are currently employed. Would stress again that public health advice is NOT to travel for the holidays. Many of us have also not seen our parents for a year.
