Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
HI,
I am currently back in Canada to apply for my husband who lives in the UK but is Pakistani. I have consulted with lawyers and they say that I have to work even if I do it part-time. It's really hard for me, being away from my husband. I don't wanna stay here, I JUST WANT TO APPLY AND LEAVE. MY friend told me that we do not need to work in order to apply so why are all the lawyers telling me to at least work part time. I am a uni student and I have three semesters left to graduate but it's just hard being away. I'd rather apply and leave. Please give me some advice.

Thanks.

you don't HAVE to work, there is no minimum income required, but you can't be on welfare as well. so pretty much CIC probably has to see you will be able to provide both for yourself and for your husband when he will come here. I don't know how to interpret this, probably somebody else will give you more detailed answer :)

as for you wanting to come, apply and leave as fast as possible - are you Canadian citizen or PR? As PR, you have to be in Canada for the whole processing time, I believe.

My situation is somewhat different, I'm a homemaker, but I am a Canadian citizen sponsoring my husband. What I was told is that I don't need to work but I need to show any savings we have as well as have letters from my family who have agreed to let us stay with them indefinitely.

run away from the lawyer. he is giving terrible advice. it certainly is NOT required for the canadian sponsor to be working while the application processes. there are many many many sponsors who are not employed and successfully sponsor their spouse for pr. CIC *may* ask you to provide additional proof to show how you intend to support yourselves. otherwise an unemployed sponsor has no affect on the sponsorship process.
