Hi members,
I have been a Permanent resident of Canada since 2011 and have PR card which experes on June 28, 2016.
I am a mother of three kids (8, 5, 3 out of whom 3 years kid was born in Canada and has a Canadian Passport).
Until now, I have lived in Canada just for one year in five years.
I have just entered to Canada second time last month and living since then after renting an apartment. I plan to live here permanently from now.

However, PR cards of mine and two kids expire in June, next month and I have not applied for renew them becuase I do not meet the 730 days of residency.
After June (i.e. after my PR card expires), can I live here as a Permanent resident or do I need to leave Canada (as I do not want to live here as an illegal immigrant)?
I am confused and stressed, so your kind help and guidline is highly appreciated.

Thank you.

No need to leave Canada. Stay 2 out of 5 years in Canada and apply for PR card renewal.

Thank you, ttrajan for quick reply.
Do they renew my driving license and health insurance card and can my kids enter to the school without any problem?
I lived in Alberta for a year before and now I entered to Toronto (Ontario) and living here and want to continue to live here in the future as well.

Thank you!

Yes no problem. Do it before your PR card expiry. When you enter Canada now, immigration officers said anything about staying outside longtime?

Thank you TTRAJAN. No, they did not ask like that.
He just asked how long you are going to stay this time and I said permenently, however I doubt whether he could understand my answer clearly as my English is too poor.
As I am from a visa-waver country, so I think he thought us a visitor. However, to clear the complication, I showed my PR card but I wonder whether he did procedure using PR cards or using passport only, I do not know that.

thank you again and I am bit relieved now.

if your PR card expires next month you will need to renew and then take things from there, all the best to you and your family.

Dear iblessed,

The problem is I do not satisfy the residency rule of 730 days as I mentioned in the original thread. So looking for the expert's suggestion.

You won't automatically lose your PR status if you do not meet the residency requirement. Do you still have a spouse, and is he a Canadian citizen? Sadly though, staying with your Canadian citizen child cannot count towards the residency requirement. You can also consider renewing based on humanitarian and compassionate grounds.

You were already allowed to reenter Canada even if you say you will not meet the 730 days in 5 years, so you might have a chance.
