Do i need to certify copies

Hey guys,

Was wondering if you need to certify copies of all your documents? I am in Canada, but my birth certificate is in my home country, so I've asked my mom to give it to the translation company and than to certify the copy by notary. Will it work? And will the scan of such things will work or she needs to send me originals?

Hi there, beware that the traslations have to be done by a CANADIAN certified translator... it cannot be done in your home country. The Canadian translator should give you an affidavit, so it doesnt need to be notarized. And also, yiu need the original certified copies and translations, as the signatures have to be original. In regard to originals, check in the checklist as it will tell you which docs have to be original and which a certified true copy.
