Hello guys,
First, thank you all for the useful advises during my application period, it was really helpful. After long waiting my application was finally approved and I landed 2 months ago. At the border I was told by an officer that I do not need to apply for the PR card and it will be sent to my home address by default. As for now, my waiting time is 2+ months. Today I decided to check the cic current PR waiting time and I have found PR card application package. I am quite confused now: does it mean that the officer was wrong and I still need to apply for the PR card and pay the fee?

Thanks,

Hi

The border officer was not wrong; you don't apply for your first card, it will be sent out to you. That PR card application package is for those are are replacing or renewing a card.

Current processing time is 85 days, plus mailing time. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-card.asp

Guys, thank you very much. I somehow could not find this information on the cic site and started panicking that i wasted two months and did not apply for on time.
