Hi there,

Me and my girlfriend are in Calgary with a working holiday visa that expires next month. We are trying to extend the visa as visitors so we can explore a bit before we go home.
We are struggling with the Common Law declaration form (IMM5409) and we're wondering if we actually need to include this form because we have to go and get it notarized and are running out of time. (We didn't realize it would be so complicated)
And if we do any recommendations on where to get it done?
Thanks!

Go to a Multicultural Centre in your city, they should do it with their Commissionaire of Oath for free.
You'll have to provide some proof that you're living together as it says on the form.

Did you check on the checklist if that form is required ?
Have you been living together for 1 year ?

Thanks Helena!
Yes 2 years and we filed our tax returns as common law so I think we had to apply as common law.
It said somewhere that that form is required but when we went back to fully complete the application there wasn't an option for us to upload it, so hopefully it was OK without! Thanks for getting back!
