Do I need a Visa?

My Canadian friend is currently in Tamale Ghana visiting her ailing mother. She has been there almost a year now. Canadian passport recently expired & has been renewed now. She wishes to come visit me in Colorado USA for 3-4 weeks & return to Ghana & continue care for her mother. My question: Is her Canadian passport all she is required to make this trip? Does she need a VISA in addition to the passport?
