I'm from India but have studied Masters in Canada from 2013-15 and currently have a PGWP. In my Express Entry application that I have to submit post-ITA, the document checklist doesn't mention Canadian PCC as required but some people advised me to get a PCC from Canada as well since I've stayed there for >6 months. I also read on this forum that you don't need a PCC from Canada as CIC conducts its own background check.

So what's the truth? Do I need a PCC from Canada or not?!

Side question: If I'm going to submit my application from India (I'm currently back home until Feb end) and return to Canada in March, would there be a problem with my Indian PCC that I will apply/obtain/submit right now (within 60 days timeline) as I will be leaving India in Feb end and won't have a PCC covering my Indian stay from Dec-Feb?

Thank you.

You need to obtain PCCs for all countries where you have stayed for minimum 6 months since the age of 18 for submission of e-APR.

However, you do not need to obtain Canadian PCC. If and only if IRCC requests you to obtain it (i.e. after submission of e-APR) only then you need to get it.
I hope this clarifies your doubt.

"People say..." Really, wouldn't it just be better to follow IRCC's instructions? See the section on police certificates.

No, no problem. Again, this is explained in IRCC's instructions.

First of all, I need to say sorry cause I dont know about PCC. My right eye is emblyopic, I met an accident in my childhood. I've completed a postgraduation from, I prefer to say, Indian Subcontinent. I want to pursue higher study in the States or Canada. I dont know anyone who would help me regarding my issue. I think you know the difficulties I'm facing in my day to day life, and you only can understand my problem. Again, I say sorry for making a irrelevant reply and wasting your time, I couldn't but knock you here as this post is your latest activity. Can I have your contact please (preferably the email id)?
