Hi everyone,

I just received the invitation from CIC to apply for PR through Canadian Experience Class. I am wondering if I need a LMIA for my job. My job's code is 2211 and when I conducted the survey, I input that I don't have a LMIA for my job. However, I still got selected. I am wondering if I still need to get LMIA from my employer to process the invitation. The CIC website says that if I apply through Canadian Experience Class, I don't need to have LMIA. Is it correct?

Please help me !!!!!

Thank you

You only need an LMIA if you are claiming 50 points for having a job offer. Otherwise no LMIA is required.

Thank you so much for your message. I am also wondering what do you mean by claiming 50 points for having a job offer. Also, on the CIC website, they were saying most of the jobs need LMIA if you apply through express entry unless it's LMIA exempt. However my job is not LMIA exempt. Why did they even send me the invitation? or I misfilled some blanks wrongly?

I double checked my answers, I did select that I don't have a LMIA for my current job ....

That is so weird.... I am looking forward your help! Thank you!

I should have asked what kind of work permit you have. I assume it was a PGWP. Is that what you have? If not - let us know what you have.

I have PGWP and it is a open work permit. And I have a one year work experience in Canada under NOC 2211 (Also I graduated from university in Canada). But I don't have a LMIA when I first started my job in May, 2017. I just applied for the job and our company just provided me the position after my interviews.
