I'm confused as to what you mean, and require additional details. Were you living in Canada between July 3 and December 31, or was only your family here? did you have any income in Canada? Assets? Other ties?

Technically, you have to pay income tax on the income earned (both in Canada and abroad) from the day you became a resident of Canada. So, if you landed on July 3rd, your income tax year will be from July 3 - December 31. However, if you were not living here, and met the conditions of being a non-resident of Canada for tax purposes, then you would not have to pay tax on the income.

I moved on July 3rd, lived on rent and didn;t had any asset in canada.

I left to work in ME however my wife/kid was residing in the rental property. Number of days from July 3rd to Dec 31 comes to 181 days.

I didn't had any income while in canada.

Please advise if i have to pay tax on my income abroad in that case.

regards

Because you maintained significant ties with Canada by having your wife and kids here, you should file a tax return. Whether or not you will have a tax liability on your foreign income depends on how much you earned, and whether you earned it in a country that has a tax treaty with Canada. You must declare your foreign income on your tax return.
