no..I landed here in Vancouver, inland application...there's no need to exit because they're going to ask you to appear in person and to get your landing papers in person..

Once you get your COPR and visa, you can leave Canada then land on your return. You can also land by booking a landing appointment at the nearest immigration office.

Or you can drive to US border, at the US border office, tell them you want to finish landing in Canada and don't want to enter US at this time. They will give u a document saying you can't enter US at this time blah blah blah. When you have that document, go back to Canada, tell CBSA that you want to land. You will then feel good driving home.
Not sure if they change this ridiculous procedure already or not.

common sense says if u are already in, and are applying for an inland application, why would u need to exit... consult cic office... i dont think u have to step out of the country...

I don't think it's a "must do" requirement, but in another case I am aware of, they CHOOSE to exit and re-enter so as to finalize the LANDING process immediately and be like other post said "drive home feeling good" . . .

Welcome to Canada - don't let our "lack" of common sense scare you away!
