You can carry proof. I heard typically they don't ask.

What's for sure is that you don't need to carry this in physical cash with you. But carrying proof (i..e bank letter statement) is a good idea.

One of my friend landed in Nova Scotia last year, he carried Travelers cheques and immigration office did verify that.
So, sometimes they ask for and sometimes they do not. you should carry with yourself a proof of funds document.

Can I show that the transferred the amount through Scotiabank's Right Start program? The account is legally not active until I land in Canada...
