hello everyone
i am a civil engineer from India with 29 years of experience. i have applied for 4 jobs in Canada, for which my skills and experience matched. i am reading in various websites that the response rate is low from employers but they reply if they select the applicant for interview. my queries are:
*do they surely respond if skills and experience match?
*how much time does it take for them to respond?

thanking everyone in advance

have a nice day

1) No - they won't surely respond if skills and experience are a match. Some/many employers aren't interested in hiring foreign workers. In that case they probably won't respond.
2) Anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.

@scylla you wrote "they are not interested in hiring foreign workers " but do they mention it in the vacancy ads they post online?

No - they probably won't mention this in the vacancy ads they post online.

but there are ads which states: need of Canadian experience, must be p.eng, knowledge of canadian engineering standards or codes
the 4 jobs that i applied didn't state need of "canadian exp., they wrote only to be eligible for p.eng (which i am for most provinces) and also they didnt state the need to know canadian codes or standards.
my skills and experience are completely matching and i will register for p.eng after i get a job offer so tht i could get the work permit and land there. so is this a positive chance for me to get an interview??????
i really want to know this as i came to know that there is a strong demand for my prof. in canada
i got these ads from jobbank.gc.ca and working in canada.gc.ca websites.

They prefer PEng and PR engineers.

It's impossible for any of us to answer this question. You'll have to wait and see if you hear back from the employers who have posted the job openings. Good luck.
