I've followed this forum for quite a while now and I've read all the good, but also the less fortunate stories, as well as sharing my own experience.

And up until people get DM I found a lot of useful tips, like getting GCMS notes or whats a good way to approach CIC when somethng is wrong/missing or requested by CIC.

What I can't find here is what happens after DM. Personally I will be contacted by the Montreal office. Does anybody have an idea how long after DM they will contact me and if it's via email/regular mail or phone.

Also, how long after this initial contact is the actual interview usually, how should I prepare for this interview and which documentation should I bring with me? (Same goes for my wife, who sponsors me)

Thanks for any guidance you can offer!

The OP applied inland, so this will be the landing interview.

Each office varies. I've seen a few weeks to a few months, depending on how busy the office is. The landing interview is a formality. Bring your passport and any other documents that they request in the letter. I believe you need to bring photos. They'll ask a few questions to verify your information, if anything has changed (new dependents, marriage, divorce, etc) and you'll sign the COPR.

Some people also recommend bringing proof that you are still living together. There was one couple that brought in their ID, but the addresses did not match, so CIC refused to complete the landing until they could bring in sufficient proof.

Yeah it's landing interview for inland process.

So tom summarize if I understand correctly:

Basically take everything they request in the appointment letter with me to the landing office, including (new) photos? why? and I assume receipt of payment of all fees including RPRF, which I did upfront.

We just signed a new lease together and have all the old leases still here so living together remark won't be an issue. Thanks for the heads up though, because our ID's don't match either for address, my wife's ID still has her old address on it (drivers license) :p

And then basically answer some questions, check the details and if correct, sign some papers and then wait for the PR card by mail.

That seems to make sense :) Thanks!

My wife had to submit photos with her PPR, but we applied outland. Inland may be different. They need photos to attach to your COPR. And given that your photos were likely taken at least a year ago, they might want to have newer ones? Or maybe CIC hires people with creepy photo collecting hobbies?
